The American style joystick is a good quality joystick that is fitted with reliable microswitches with 4.8 mm terminals and is manufactured from high tenacity nylon, making it lightweight, yet extremely durable. The 4 or 8 way mode can be changed by simply flipping over the plastic actuator at the time of assembly. The American style joystick has a tear drop style handle, which is available in red or black. The handle will not unscrew and is fixed, as it is injection moulded onto the shaft of the joystick. A black shaft cover and dust cover is also included with each joystick. This joystick has a very nice feel and features a short throw, so makes contact with the microswitches with a gentle movement of the handle, which translates to easy, accurate movement during gameplay.

This joystick requires 4.8mm crimped wires for connection.
This joystick has 4 x microswitches fitted with 4.8mm terminals.
Each microswitch will require 1 x 4.8mm ground connection and 1 x wire 4.8mm for signal connection.
For the ground connections, you can use the daisy chain ground harness 4.8mm. The grounds connect to the CO (common ground) terminals and the signal wires connect to the NO (normally open) terminals.
